Aleya is a four-piece band from Manchester and Chester, UK. With influences ranging from post-hardcore, modern metal and pop-punk, Aleya have combined aggressive verses with catchy choruses. Their debut single, Survive, was released on the 16th of December.

“Losing Sleep is the first song that we completed when we first started writing music together. Lyrically, the song is about the feeling most people have encountered – having thoughts and ideas, both good and bad, about the coming days racing through your head and stopping you from sleeping.”

Survive plays on the ideas of what it feels like for someone to break. The recurring line “don’t waste your breath” focuses along the theme of drowning but plays on the colloquialism often used when trying to talk to talk to someone who won’t listen. The lyrics were written to give murderous imagery juxtaposed in the heartfelt clean vocal sections, blended with erratic and fast paced screamed sections.
