George Stackhouse – Take My Hand (The People Song) 8th January 2021 Release
Front man of Rawkus Redz George Stackhouse brings you his brand new solo release “Take My Hand (The People Song)”
Single Information
Take My Hand is a song about the divisions in our society, those divisions often being widened and
exploited by a select few who hold the power, setting us against each other whilst they clear off with
the profits.
The lyrics sing of a better way in that, if we all come together for the common good instead of letting
that select few divide us, we can patch up the “sinking ship” that is our society and “steer with
better grip”.
The song illustrates that positive change can only come from us all working together, and by doing
so, “we can make it”.
Artist Bio
George Stackhouse is a British singer, songwriter and performing musician hailing from Shepshed in
Leicestershire, England. He is the guitarist and the main driving creative influence in the Leicester
rock band Rawkus Redz.
He writes and performs a wide range of music, from melodic hard rock/metal to solo vocal and
acoustic guitar, to TV/Radio idents and film soundtracks.
He enjoys the camaraderie and interaction of the multi-personnel rock band setting, but is equally as
comfortable performing on stage in a solo capacity with nothing more than his acoustic guitar.
His diversity can see him go from screaming a gutsy, rusty-edged hard rock tune to crooning a laid-
back, soulful ballad with, what appears to be, uncanny ease. As George would say “We might see the
controlled elegance of the swan travelling with ease through the water, but a little look under the
surface will expose the frantic and often challenging use of strength and control”.
George’s use of vocal range, tone and timbre is what he hopes makes him standout when faced with
a new audience, along with a deep sense of gratitude when people return to see him perform.
He has performed in both solo and ensemble capacities to a wide range of audiences both in terms
of numbers and age range. He is as comfortable in the small ‘club’ setting as he is in the larger
‘multiple-hundreds+’ venue.
He likes to write and perform songs which are not only musically engaging with catchy melodies, but
also usually carry something of socio-political comment. He has an ability to blur the lines between
different genres of music, often melding influences from pop rock, hard rock, blues, funk, heavy
metal and even rap-metal and classical music.
A listen to P.O.W.E.R, Fat Cats and Man at the Top, compared to Tears, Take My Hand and Walk
Away and will probably tell you all you need to know.
His stage persona carries a combination of humble gratitude and quiet confidence. He is, as an
individual, most comfortable when he has his guitar and is singing. If there are people who want to
stop and listen, that’s an added bonus.
