Sam Swancott – Infidelity Single Release 28th August 2020

20 year old Sam Swancott, singer song-writer from Swindon released her debut single in December 2019. Now Sam has returned with her brand new single “Infidelity” on the 28th August 2020. Following Sam’s debut single Nothing In Common this will be Sam’s second release.

Single Information

Infidelity is a fusion of mostly jazz and RnB but spinning a modern twist on classic jazz to introduce a new style to my listeners; this comes from not only the track itself, but the scat singing over the top of the main vocals. From the first few seconds of the song, it pricks your ears up and asks to be listened to. There’s a certain cheekiness to the lyrics, and everything said is to be taken with a pinch of salt. The instrumentation of the song really gives off an underlying 70s vibe, which we really played on for the song’s imagery.

The background to the song is about a relationship breaking down, and the left-over bitterness escalated to lies and rumours of adultery being spread. The song itself is essentially the reaction to these rumours, and how if anyone believed them, they didn’t know me at all.  The bitterness I felt towards the lies gets turned into a few controversial/light hearted lines towards that person, which really makes it personal. 

This song truly feels like a sculpture to me, I had so many ideas and worked with my producer, Sam Milea, to really sculpt out the best bits of my ideas and put them together to form something great. We spent a significant amount of time perfecting small bits and making sure the song was exactly what we wanted it to be, and it would be a real piece of music.

Artist Bio

Sam Swancott is a neo soul inspired artist with hints of pop and jazz music bursting through. Growing up, she took inspiration from Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Jessie J from how they created their own styles with their recognisable tones and contemporary lyrics. Be prepared for more music from her in the near future!
