Yesterday’s Gone – Break Me 29th January 2021 Release
British rockers Yesterday’s Gone bring you their first single of 2021 called “ Break Me”
Single Information
Break Me is the first release of 2021 for Yesterday’s Gone, taken from their studio Ep which is set for release later in 2021.
The track was written back in June last year and was one of those tracks that just materialised out of a jamming session and quickly gathered momentum with the lyrics being almost a statement of defiance to the situation we were all in (Lockdown), focusing mainly around having the mental strength to carry on and not be beaten down by external factors, and the sheer determination that we all have for what we do musically.
The track consists of hard hitting Beats (Stan Tomkinson), filthy, thick sounding riffs (Danny Vernon & Josh Walker) , window rattling bass lines (George Sharpe) and a punchy vocal (Rob Walker) to back it all up. Its a straight up no messing blues rock monster.
Band Bio
They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for Yesterdays Gone. Composed of a group of inspirational musicians and skilful performers, the artists behind Yesterday‘s Gone have earned their reputation as a talented band to look out for. From live gigs, to studio sessions and more, they continue to touch fans around the world with their distinct and enjoyable musical style, Southern Fried Blues Rock, Straight up no chaser!!
Forming in 2019 the band has gone from strength to strength winning over crowds across the UK with a hard hitting raw blues, rock sound hitting the scene with their début single “Greed” followed by their début Ep “Metamorphosis”.
Although only forming in 2019 don’t be fooled, Yesterdays Gone have a wealth of experience and between the 5 member of the band, Rob Walker (Vocals), Josh Walker (Guitar), Danny Vernon (Guitar, and solo maker), George Sharpe (Bass), Stan Tomkinson (Drums), they have shared the stage with the likes of John “Rhino” Edwards from Status Quo and Rhino’s Revenge, Saxon (Official), The Dead Daisies, The Quire boys, Ryders Creed, These Wicked Rivers, The howling Tides, Dead Man’s Whisky, Black Water Conspiracy, to name but a few!
The band seem to have gelled really well in the short time that we have been together and the music that is being produced takes influences from both Classic Rock, Blues, Metal, Stoner, and many other weird and wonderful influences, if you can imagine Zep had a love child with Clutch, Audioslave and WhiteSnake you may be on the right track.
The core sound of the band has always tried to be blues rock, but we all have our own ideas on tracks and where they should go, seriously you would think that was an issue with influences going from Danny Vernon, driving influences like of Reb Beach, Joel Hoakstra, Doug Aldridge, Angus Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Chuck Berry and just about every other guitarist I can think of to Josh who is down right Influenced by a lot of old school dirty rock and roll. Influences include the likes of Boston, Led Zeppelin and Kansas all the way to mastodon, Fu Manchu, Helmet and most of all Clutch. Drop tuned and Loud is his #1 philosophy, and as mad as that is the rabbit hole gets deeper with the rest of the band’s input, but always works, sort of! Well judge for yourself.
2021 see us releasing lots more music and hopefully being able to perform it for you live!
